The power of stories to inspire action

We need to make sure we expose our children to stories from all walks of life, from across the globe, to stop and listen, to take the time to hear other people’s stories to teach our children about the Sustainable Development Goals in a way that resonates. Stories can challenge our truths and beliefs and give us a better understanding of the world around us and inspire us to act.

  1. Thank you Viv. This one really resonates with me as an English teacher and confirms to me why I have made some key changes to many of the texts on our English curriculum to allow students to discuss and experience a diverse range of stories; hopefully those children will help to improve cultural understanding and reduce inequalities in the future.
