The facilitators will be our own Green School Faculty Members. Tapping into the creativity and wisdom of some of the world’s most seasoned Green Educators, these masters will be your guides through the program.

Yes, during the week there will be one or two days where we take the group to go out, learn and experience nature, local community, culture and tradition. You may also get an opportunity to join students’ projects/activities outside the school.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • This course is designed for anyone who is passionate and interested in putting sustainability at the center of their daily life, especially for school teachers and administrators.
  • Basic English speaking, listening and reading comprehension is required.
  • Participants have to be over 18 years of age and committed to engage actively during the transfer of learning process with facilitators, colleagues and peers.

Participants will stay overnight on the east side of Green School campus. During the stay, you will experience green living at its finest while sleeping in Green Camp Lodge - a breezy, beautiful and comfortable bamboo dormitory with bamboo bunk bed that can accommodate up to 40 people in one lodge. The room is equipped with ceiling fans, mosquito nets, lock box for valuables, sheets, blankets and towels. Female and male will stay in different rooms with separate bathroom facilities. You can also upgrade your stay to a Private Yurt for an additional charge. The yurt fits for 4 people with 2 bunk beds - stay with your own comfort or share with a small group.

The price of the course is all inclusive and we highly recommend this. Staying together with your peers builds connections and bonds that last for a lifetime. For those who are already residing in Bali, you can choose to return to your own home in the evening but there won’t be any discount on the price.

We will serve a variety of tasty Indonesian and Western vegetarian organic food, prepared by Green School’s amazing kitchen team. Coffee, tea and snacks are also provided throughout the course. Any dietary restrictions can be listed on the registration form.

Participants are expected to be punctual and encouraged to participate in the whole program. If for some reason participants need to leave and couldn’t attend some sessions, please make sure to inform us in advance.

Certificates of Completion will be given to participants at the end of the course.

REGISTRATION

The Green Educator Course focuses on teachers and school administrators, but we are also excited to welcome people who would like to learn more about education for sustainability and sustainable lifestyle.

Courses have varied in size but we try not to exceed 25 participants in one course, to maintain a more intimate and conducive learning environment.

We love having groups participate but do not offer group rates or discounts.

Please see our policy.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

We have our first aid stations with experienced nurses on standby during regular school hours and there are a number of hospitals that we can call on in case of an emergency and also a 24-hours security team on campus. Emergency procedures will be discussed upon arriving at Green School. For any further concerns about health related issues, please contact us directly.

Feel free to step away from the group at any time for your religious practices. We’re happy to suggest a quiet location on campus to step away to as well. There are some church and mosques nearby but participants have to arrange their own transport to and from there.

Participants will be on campus during school hours but we make all efforts not to disturb classes and regular programmes of students and teachers. There may be moments built into the course where participants will engage with our students but these will be planned and discussed. Please be aware not to take pictures of our students and teachers as this is against our School policies.

We do not provide any childcare and we ask that you don’t invite visitors or children to the campus during the course for community privacy and safety reasons.  All visitors may join a public tour of the School which runs from 9 - 10 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Details about the public tour can be found by visiting our website here.

We aim to offer the programme 3 times a year (excluding any potential customized courses).
