WHERE DOES THE COURSE TAKE PLACE & HOW TO GET THERE?
The school is situated in the rural village of Sibang Kaja in beautiful Bali Island. The campus can be easily accessed by motorbike or car and– it is located about 30-mins from Ubud or Canggu; 1 hour from Seminyak, Sanur and 1,5 hour from the Airport. A list of taxis, drivers, car-share providers and helpful tips for transport is provided for our participants prior to arriving in Bali.
WHAT AIRPORT DO I FLY INTO?
I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali - there are many flights in and out of Bali each day, which makes it easy to get to and from Bali from multiple locations.
WHERE IS A GOOD PLACE TO STAY?
Bali is full of amazing accommodation options and you may wish to book some extra time prior to, of after the course to explore and enjoy Bali. You will find options and various priced offerings via pPrior and after the course, you can book a cozy place from these websites: Booking.com, Agoda, Tiket.com, Traveloka, or AirBnb. You can also extend your stay in the unique Green Educators from the accommodation, at a modest additional charge. that we provide under your own expense.

Bali is a very safe place for single travelers and it is likely you will make many friends during the course.

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE?
Each day is curated with a mix of activities that are designed to inspire, educate, create connections and spark joy. Each day’s program commences at 8am and closes as the sun sets at 6pm.Days are packed with activities from early morning until dinner – 8 AM - 6 PM. Some optional activities may be offered before breakfast or after dinner. A detailed schedule of the program will be sent to registered participants one week before the course begins.
WHO ARE THE COURSE FACILITATORS
The facilitators will be our own Green School Faculty Members. Tapping into the creativity and wisdom of some of the world’s most seasoned Green Educators, these masters will be your guides through the program
ARE THERE ANY ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE THE CAMPUS DURING THE WEEK?
Yes, during the week there will be one or two days where we take the group to go out, learn and experience nature, local community, culture and tradition. You may also get an opportunity to join students’ projects/activities outside the school.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
- This course is designed for anyone who is passionate and interested in putting sustainability at the center of their daily life, especially for school teachers and administrators.
- Basic English speaking, listening and reading comprehension is required.
- Participants have to be over 18 21 years of age and committed to engage actively during the transfer of learning process with facilitators, colleagues and peers.
WHERE DO I STAY DURING THE COURSE?
Participants will stay overnight on the Green School campus. During the stay, you will experience green living at its finest while sleeping in Green Camp Lodge - a breezy, beautiful and comfortable bamboo dormitory with bamboo bunk bed that can accommodate up to 40 people in one lodge. The room is equipped with ceiling fans (no AC), mosquito nets, lock box for valuables, sheets, blankets and towels. Female and male will stay in different rooms and there are separate bathroom facilities as well.
IS IT REQUIRED TO STAY IN THE ACCOMMODATION ON CAMPUS DURING THE COURSE?
Yes, we ask that all participants stay on campus, including those from Bali – this is part of the experience.
WHAT KIND OF FOOD IS PROVIDED?
We will serve a variety of tasty Indonesian and Western vegetarian organic food, prepared by Green School’s amazing kitchen team. Coffee, tea and snacks are also provided throughout the course. Any dietary restrictions can be listed on the registration form.
CAN I LEAVE EARLY DURING THE COURSE AND WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?
Participants are expected to be punctual and encouraged to participate around 8 hours per day or equal to 42 - 47 hours of program during the week. If for some reason participants need to leave and couldn’t attend some sessions, please make sure to inform us in advance.
DO I GET A CERTIFICATE?
Certificates of Completion will be given to participants at the end of the course.
I AM NOT A TEACHER, CAN I STILL ATTEND THE COURSE?
The Green Educator Course focuses on teachers and school administrators, but we are also excited to welcome people who would like to learn more about education for sustainability and sustainable lifestyle.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE USUALLY IN THE COURSE?
Courses have varied in size but we try not to exceed 25 participants on one course, to maintain a community-minded and conducive learning environment.
DO YOU OFFER SPECIAL GROUP RATES?
We love having groups participate but do not offer group rates or discounts.
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?
Notification of withdrawal from GEC must be submitted in writing. 75% of the registration fee will be refunded if 30 days or more is given as notice. Less than 30 days notice – 25% of registration fees will be refunded. No refunds will be issued 2 weeks prior to the course. Alternatively, if participants cannot attend the course due to last minute changes (at least 2 weeks notice is required prior to the course) – they may use the fee as a credit to future courses but we cannot guarantee which courses will be offered in the future. The credit will be void if it remains unused for 3 months, counted effectively from the sign up date of the first chosen course.
WHAT IF I FALL SUDDENLY ILL DURING THE COURSE? IS THERE A HOSPITAL NEARBY?
We have our first aid stations with experienced nurses on standby during regular school hours and there are a number of hospitals that we can call on in case of an emergency and also a 24-hours security team on campus. Emergency procedures will be discussed upon arriving at Green School. For any further concerns about health related issues, please contact us directly.
IS THERE ANY PRAYING PLACES NEARBY?
Feel free to step away from the group at any time for your religious practices. We’re happy to suggest a quiet location on campus to step away to as well. There are some church and mosques nearby but participants have to arrange their own transport to and from there.
CAN I INTERACT WITH THE STUDENTS DURING THE COURSE?
Participants will be on campus during school hours but we make all efforts not to disturb classes and regular programmes of students and teachers. There may be moments built into the course where participants will engage with our students but these will be planned and discussed. Please be aware not to take pictures of our students and teachers as this is against our School policies.
CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN/FAMILY/FRIENDS?
We do not provide any childcare and we ask that you don’t invite visitors or children to the campus during the course for community privacy and safety reasons. All visitors may join a public tour of the School which run from 9.00 to 10.00 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays.. Details about the public tour can be found by visiting our website here.

The Green Educators Course is at the heart of our educational values and methods and is a part of our onboarding for all of our teachers. While it is not required for employment here, our hiring team sees completion of this course as an indicator of commitment and enthusiasm for employment and communicates directly with all GEC certificate holders.
